Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager with strong NEC contract experience to lead the commercial function across multiple civil engineering projects. You will play a key role in protecting commercial position, managing risk and driving profitability while working closely with operational and senior leadership teams.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing all commercial and contractual aspects of projects from pre-contract through to final account.

Administration of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts, including early warnings, compensation events and change management.
*

Preparing and agreeing valuations, variations, applications for payment and final accounts.
*

Overseeing cost control, forecasting, cash flow and commercial reporting.
*

Managing subcontract procurement, negotiation and performance.
*

Identifying, managing and mitigating commercial risk while maximising value.
*

Providing accurate commercial reports and updates to senior management.
*

Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff where required.
*

Working collaboratively with project and delivery teams to ensure commercial alignment.

What you will need to succeed:

Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role within civil engineering or infrastructure.
*

Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and their practical application.
*

Background in main contracting, civils, utilities or groundworks environments.
*

Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation and communication skills.
*

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
*

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar (RICS desirable but not essential).
