Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their busy road surfacing division based in Liverpool. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the commercial and estimating aspects of a range of surfacing projects, ensuring financial control, value engineering, and effective cost management from tender stage through to final account.

Responsibilities will include:

Preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for surfacing and associated works.

Managing and monitoring project costs from start to completion.
*

Undertaking site visits and liaising with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
*

Identifying commercial risks and opportunities on projects.
*

Managing subcontractor packages and payments.
*

Providing monthly CVRs and forecasting.
*

Supporting the commercial manager and operations team with live project information.
*

Ensuring all work complies with current health, safety, and environmental legislation.

What you will need to succeed:

Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator role within the civil engineering or highways sector, preferably with road surfacing exposure.
*

Knowledge of NEC and other standard forms of contract.
*

A solid understanding of commercial and financial management in construction.
*

Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
*

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
*

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
*

Full UK driving licence.
